2023 Apple Tasting Showcasing 70+ Apple Varieties

Join the Monterey Bay Chapter of the California Rare Fruit Growers on October 14 at Wilder Ranch State Park as we celebrate the season with our 2023 Apple Tasting! This event showcases the delights of locally grown apples, including rare, historic apples, apples you know and love, and new locally-bred apples being trialed with the public.
Generally, more than 70 different varieties of apples are available to taste, all freshly picked for the peak of flavor. Check out last year’s event report for details and discussion of the various apples.
This year’s Apple Tasting will be held in conjunction with Wilder Ranch’s Heritage Harvest Festival. At this family-friendly event, you can participate in historical activities and living history demonstrations including blacksmithing, the Pelton water wheel, and machine shop demonstrations. Enjoy live old-time music, baked goods, and hand-cranked pumpkin ice cream for sale. Enjoy kids’ crafts and games as well as the scenic ranch location.
