2024 Citrus Extravaganza

Join us for our members-only Citrus Extravaganza Sunday, April 28 at the Santa Cruz Live Oak Grange! Our event this year will include a panel discussion of unique and delicious citrus varieties that grow well here, a Citrus Tasting and of course, the opportunity to share ideas with other chapter members.
For those who are interesting in grafting citrus trees, the chapter will be organizing a budwood order from the Citrus Clonal Protection Program (CCPP). You can join in on the order and then create your own preferred variety. You can learn about the CCPP program here or review the available varieties here.
Here are a few ways to participate:
- DONATE CITRUS FRUIT OR GOODIES – We’d love to taste the rainbow of citrus varieties that are able to grow in our unique growing region. Please pop your name and varieties on this list to we know what varieties to expect.
- SHARE YOUR CITRUS EXPERIENCES ON OUR COMMUNITY CITRUS PANEL – We’d like to feature a small panel of community members who are experienced in growing citrus in our region from 3:00-4:00. We’ll talk about favorite varieties, best practices for growing citrus, and any pro tips you’ve learned along the way. Please reply to this email if you’re willing to share your experiences.
- VOLUNTEER AT THE EVENT – Many hands make light work (plus you get to meet a whole lot of cool people!). Please let us know if you can help out with any of our needed volunteer opportunities.
