🍐🍎Birdsong Orchards Apple & Pear Tasting and Owner-Led Orchard Tour

Hello Monterey Bay Rare Fruit Growers!
We have a treat for you! Join Monterey Bay CRFG and owner Bart Meltzer for a special, owner-led tour and tasting at Birdsong Orchards on Saturday, August 22, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  
 
Must have final headcount by August 15 – get your ticket soon!

This exclusive educational experience is designed specifically for our group, offering insight into orchard management, growing techniques, and how diverse orchards help preserve rare fruit varieties for future growers. The event features a curated blind tasting of three apple and three pear varieties, and every attendee will receive a jar of Birdsong farm product to take home. After the tour and tasting, you are invited to stay for a BYO picnic lunch and enjoy discounted u-pick fruit and roses.

Event Details:

– Date & Time: Saturday, August 22, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (Arrival at 9:45 AM)

– Price: Adults $25, Kids $5 (Registration required for all attendees)

Agenda:

– 9:45 AM – 10:00 AM: Arrival
– 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Farm Tour with Bart
– 11:00 AM – 11:15 AM: Break & tasting setup
– 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM: Blind fruit tasting with interactive trivia before the big reveal
– 12:00 PM onward: Picnic lunch and U-Pick Fruit and Roses.  Also fruit by the pound from the farmstand (all discounted for our group)

What to Bring:

– Comfortable shoes for uneven terrain, a hat, sunscreen, and water
– A lunch that can safely sit for two hours during the tour and tasting
– Any non-perishable food items you would like to share with the group
